Tina Ring (Co-Chair)                                                                                                                                          Co-opted Governor                                                                                                                                Subject Responsibility: Health & Safety

I moved to Bicknacre from Romford in 2008.  I have worked in Law for 45 years and recently retired as a Legal practice manager, where I held the position for 39 years with the same firm. I have been a school Governor with Priory Primary School for two years, and although I have not previously been involved in Education, I am enjoying being part of the school.  I like to volunteer for various things, in 2012 I was a Games Maker at the London Olympics and in 2014 I was at the Tower of London as part of the Poppy team. I am currently back at the Tower of London as a volunteer for Superbloom which is a garden that has been created in the moat to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.  In 2006 I completed the London Marathon, one of my most memorable achievements, I am still a keen runner although the distances are much shorter.  I recently got a black Labrador puppy and spend a lot of time walking round the village especially Priory Fields with him.

Julie Gilligan (Co-Chair)                                                                                                                                    Co-opted Governor                                                                                                                                Subject Responsibility: SEND, Pupil Premium, Reading

I have lived in Bicknacre since 2016, and I enjoy being part of this village community, which includes being a governor at Priory School. I have two grown up daughters, one of whom is a primary school teacher, and three grandsons.  I retired in 2020 after teaching for over 30 years in London and Essex primary schools, and I now work part-time as a community care assistant.  As a teacher I taught all year groups and subjects and experienced many changes in the primary curriculum. My aim was always to give pupils a rounded and enjoyable education and to work together with families and colleagues to support children in their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development.  I hope that, as a governor, I can use my knowledge and experience to continue to support pupils, staff, families and the wider community of Priory School.

I am a parent governor and have been on the board since 2020. I have two children that attend Priory Primary School. Over the past 15 years I have had a career as a teacher in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I have been the subject leader for Maths, DT and Art. I have also been responsible for tracking progress, attendance and funding for Pupil Premium pupils. Over the last decade I have worked alongside senior leadership teams supporting school improvement and I have led and implemented strategies to support high educational standards in Maths and Visual Arts.

I would love to offer my knowledge and experience to help support the school to provide a safe, engaging environment where children have opportunities to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
